Who goes on our tours? Anyone who wants to see Greece as an artist. We have beginners to experts, even non-painters who take advantage of the time to explore and have their own adventures. We’ve also had many students bring family and friends or just come alone and make new friends. While we are working in watercolor, you are welcome to work with any mediums you choose, Theresa and I are also both proficient in pastels, acrylics and oils. Just check out our websites for more information about our background. What is a typical day like? On Port days you’ll be free to explore and paint on your own or with many of the other artists in our group. Holland America offers many shore excursions for your selection. We will make suggestions prior to departure. While on ship at sea we offer a workshop in our private classroom to help you with your watercolor journal. We’ll offer ideas and suggestions to improve your sketchbook. How do I get to Rome? Book your airline tickets with your travel agent or online with your favorite airline. We suggest www.expedia.com or www.cheaptickets.com. It’s a good idea to book through one airline to assure quality service in case of any delays. Holland America also offers air, hotel, and transfer services, ask us for more details. Allow plenty of time for check in and air travel delays as you travel to Rome. Things you should know: Not included: Airfare, artist supplies, ship gratuities, optional Holland America Excursions. Artist supplies should be limited to what you can easily carry. Art Supply List: You are welcome to bring whatever professional quality watercolors you have. Simplify as much as possible, you only need a few brushes, watercolors and watercolor paper in whatever form you prefer, along with a water container. An easel is not necessary, you can even skip bringing a stool and find a bench to sit on while visiting towns. The simpler you pack the more you’ll paint. We will send a detailed list upon signup. Hotel in Rome? We can make suggestions. Travel Insurance is recommended in case of illness, injury, family emergencies, trip cancellation, etc (last year I had a guest who had a bicycle accident just prior to the trip and had to cancel, she was able to get full reimbursement for canceled trip—including airline tickets.) If you purchase within 15 days from www.travelguard.com you can also have trip cancellation in case you have to cancel for personal or business reasons. Holland America also offers travel insurance. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop—all deposits and/or full payments will be reimbursed immediately upon announced cancellation. If Holland America cancels the cruise, all cruise funds will be reimbursed per Holland America terms. Any questions??? 10 - Day Cruise Special starts at $2,000 to $3,500 depending your stateroom selection. Price is per person/double occupancy accommodations, meals & entertainment, taxes, port fees & fuel surcharge*. Add a 3rd/4th person in your room at the price of $825 each. Non-painting companions are welcome.
Watercolor Journaling Workshop will be held in our private classroom on board ship while at sea, with updated "Make Every Day A Painting" manual included. $375 for adults, $250 for students (teens to age 21). Workshop deposit: $75 due upon registration, balance due by May 15, 2009. Cruise Deposit: $600 per person due within 5 days upon reservation to lock in your special cruise group price. Call asap for best room selection and potential additional discounts. Final payments for cruise are due by March 31, 2008. Credit cards accepted.
